Meet the lovely Florence Rolando whose talent in identifying emerging brands is not just for fun, but also her profession. She is the author of the Piroutte blog, a long time contributor to Milk Magazine and co-founder of the Bubble kids trade show. Florence, her husband and three children live in the heart of London after spending time in NYC, Paris and Milan. “We used to be mad shoppers in our NY years buying lots and lots of clothes and toys.” With the children a bit older, they are now into films, books, games and travel. The styles at home are either “feminine with earthy, neutral tones” or “very bright and funky” depending on the mood and weather. With the girls in school uniforms, “I let them go crazy on the weekends and love going to restaurants wearing ballet tutus, lots of hair clips and jewels.” Florence adores the colors in the Belgium collections of Simple Kids and Maan and pairs with bright or metallic sneakers. Other favorites include Pepe shoes, Bruno Munario books, wooden toys (Nova Natural to Molin Roty), and Schleich animals. And, she shops eBay for more interesting, vintage Playmobil and Barbie.
